Prepping your car at Entropy Racing
Our first priority is to get your car done when we promise it. The idea of racing is to get out there and drive, the building and preparation of the racecar is just a necessary evil that we must all endure. At Entropy we take into consideration all the factors surrounding a specific job. Timing, budget, driver’s skill, experience, and commitment, priority of events, and personal preference are all weighed carefully so that the end product leaves the shop, on time, within budget, and ready to race. No fuss no worry. We can do most anything you could ever need done, and if we can’t we know someone who can do it for us. We stand behind all of our work, and have a track record that anyone would be proud of. We strive to be your one-stop prep shop by establishing relationships with many shops and suppliers so that you can get anything you need from us, rather than carting your car from here to there, and back again, to take care of the details. We can mount your tires, align any type of car, and even have a local body shop and a sign shop (for lettering) that work closely with us to save time and money to give you that finished look that you desire all with just one stop. We can build you a roll cage, or upgrade your current one (NASCAR door bars are one of our specialties), and make sure your safety equipment is working properly and up to snuff. The result of a properly prepared racecar is that when you go to the track your time is spent enjoying yourself, not fixing your car. We not only stand behind our work at the shop but, often, we are there to back up that promise by being there at trackside to make sure it all comes together. Call us and see if we can get your race program back on track and running smoothly.
Prep services offered
General Race Prep. In between events the car is looked over, wheels tires and brakes are serviced as necessary. Fluids are checked, flushed and changed as necessary. All suspension is checked, and serviced as required. Engine, exterior, and interior are cleaned. A list of recommended modifications, upgrades, and service is generated and discussed with the customer, and all approved service is performed.
Fabrication services. Most fabrication, such as roll cages and welding, is done in-house. We have top shelf equipment and years of experience designing, and building, roll cages and safety upgrades for existing cages. What we can’t do in-house is done by a local machine shop that offers exceedingly high quality work for prices that are not to be matched.
Wheels, tires, and alignment. We have modern tire machines capable of mounting the most fragile of wheels without marring or marking them, and an associate shop has the experience and tools to align just about any kind of car to our specs and dimensions. With our 15 years of experience working on all sorts of different race cars we can generally get you pointing straight and cornering true the first time out.
Transport. On occasion we are able to provide transport for your racecar, and often strive to meet you at the track saving you the extra tow. We pride ourselves on making your racing program fun and as easy as possible, and to do so we will always try to go that extra mile, so that you can enjoy your days at the track that much more.
Trackside Services
We can deliver your car, prepare it, and best of all, keep it, and you, on track once you arrive. We will help you prepare a spares package with a plan that meets your budget while keeping you supplied with the parts you need to cover almost any eventuality.
We are always there to help with a brake change, a tire pressure and temperature analysis, or just being able to offer a tool or a piece of hardware from our well supplied trucks. We are capable of major services ranging from crash repairs, to engine work, and diagnosis. Our trackside suspension solutions are second to none, and with our experience in set-up and suspension dynamics we can often get an ill-handling car back on the right track and working like a champ during the event.
Many teams contract our services for club racing pit stops in endurance racing. Over the years we have serviced many of the top finishing teams in the EMRA Endurance Series as well as fielding successful cars at various SCCA and NASA endurance events. We ran a Toyota at the 24 hours of Nelson Ledges in 1996 placing Second in class and 11th overall. In 1999 Entropy built and crewed an AGT Camaro in the 24 hours of Daytona and in 2003 we brought a two car effort to the 25 hours at Thunder Hill in California. We have participated in the Tropical 12 hour at Homestead for the past 3 years and placed in the top 5 overall two of those years while we have never failed to finish ANY race longer than 6 hours since 1990. We consistantly post some of the fastest pit stops in club racing and for over 5 years have had the fasest pit stops of ANY team at the EMRA 4 hour Twi-Night Enduro
If it can be done, we will always be... "working to keep you out of the pits"
